4 Ways You Are Sabotaging Your Own Weight Loss While Working From Home

How to Lose Weight While Working From Home

Being a work-at-home mom can make losing weight a really difficult thing. It is too easy to reach for a snack throughout the day.

I know myself that trying to lose those extra few pounds can be really hard for those of us juggling a home business and a family. After doing some research I was hit with a few home truths about my eating habits that may well have been sabotaging my weight loss all this time! Here are the four fat loss mistakes I learned that I was making.

Trying To Eat Only 1000 calories a day – Starvation Diet Mistakes

So my thinking was if 1400 calories are good for weight loss, dropping my intake to 1000 must be better, right? No pain no gain?! Wrong. It turns out your body needs fuel to burn fat properly. As strange as it may sound, if you cut your calories back too far, your body just clings to all that fat. Arrgh!!  This was my first lesson, you need a level of calorie intake that ensures your metabolism stays revved and you keep burning fat.

Forgetting to Plan My Meals Ahead

I get busy, this is no secret. And when I get busy I tend to wing my meals. Eating when I am hungry, bored, or just because I suddenly realize it is lunchtime. Another big mistake!  I saw the error of my ways with this new plan. It understands that I have a life to lead and need a little help to get myself organized. This diet plan makes planning ahead simple. I need this, as when I am at home all day, I start to wonder what should I eat and you know that my choices will not always be the best. Especially if my sugar levels are low! By planning ahead I never wonder now what I should be eating when I get hungry. Which has reduced the temptation to grab something I shouldn’t.

Too Much Cardio Can Increase Fat

Ok, I admit this wasn’t one of my mistakes. But I certainly used to make myself feel very guilty if I didn’t get enough cardio in the week. I believed I needed to be doing cardio at least 5 times a week for 30 minutes or more.  But I am not so keen to chain myself to a treadmill. Turns out all that cardio can actually do us more harm than good! Who knew?!

Instead, what I needed was a basic weight training program that focuses on key lifts that make me stronger.

I Was Overcomplicating The Process of Weight Loss

Who me, overcomplicate?! Hell Yes, guilty of this mistake.

There are times that weight-loss feels like a secret club that we have to find our way into through a complicated series of methods.

There seemed to always be a million rules and regulations to follow and then, of course, the willpower required to stick with it! Nightmare!
